Colour and dark

In the midst of a running programme, there seems to only be times of vivid technicolour where everything feels neon and successes are rarely watered down or there are times of shadowy voids where details bog you down, injury keeps you seated and light seems so distant.

The running routine is good or it isn’t.

Right now, for me, the spectrum is in full force where I haven’t missed an outing and despite the hard work and effort, the runs seem to glide.

Trouble is I know all too well how quickly the shades of calamity can sweep in.

I’ll take this colourful streak and paint it into memory, recall it when things are not going as bright.
