Running in the early morning hours requires a bit of a nudge to get out of bed. When I can see fuzzy peach and fuschia crack the deep indigo and charcoal, it’s all the push I need. That is, of course, until the wind pushes back.

Right when the frost and first snow hit and the air coursed with cold, my nagging ankle injury reappeared and put a chill over my routine. I ran today with some ache but no pain. It’s time to test some preventative solutions like compression socks and stretching and stride assessment before my routine freezes solid altogether.
Bam. It’s wintery. And kablammo, my running has briefly gone cold. My ankle has decided to go wonky again and I have suspended my run routine to sort it out. I love winter and I like the cold weather. I don’t, however, like not running.
