There are certain mornings with intangible qualities that when greeted with open mind and welcoming attitude are guaranteed to make you not a survivor of the day’s unfoldings, but a slayer of glitches, killer of negativity, and champion over every speed bump. This morning was that kind of morning. Should’ve gone running.
Running on rural roads with cows here, corn there, and hayfever everywhere has a warmth of character to it. The neat rows, worn fences, and the fresh (and, thanks to the cows, not so fresh!) air all have this throwback feel to another time. Now if it could just fast forward my pace!
Trying to properly rehab a run injury doesn’t allow me to raise any bars. It does allow me the opportunity to reassess exactly which bars I want raised and set realistic goals in order to go about raising them. And I will raise them. I just need time.
