Beauty in light close to home

My run this morning was in darkness as is the usual most weekdays. It was a grey and overcast morning. It became a rainy afternoon.

But this evening, when I stepped out the backdoor, the sun was breaking through the clouds and slamming hard on the tops of the neighbouring trees.

The collision of light and those leaves hammered home the fact that I don’t need to run along the coast or witness the sun rise or run out to my favourite places (Blue Rocks and Mason’s Beach) to find beauty, see something vibrant catch my eye.

Sometimes the beauty is literally right out the back door.
