As the red fades

October 18, 2015

This is a great time of year to run. I get a spirited lift from the colour around me. There is so much to look at, so much to ponder, so many distractions to take my mind off the 25k I’ve chugged out the past two days.

In addition to the palette of the trees, skyline, and ocean, the cool air has settled in and the briskness of it wakes me up and pushes me to work up to a good pace just to keep the hands warm.

I had really rewarding runs both yesterday and today. And both days I had a song come on the playlist where I zoned out and pictured the music video and it mirrored my surroundings. I know I’m a bit of a dinosaur in that I still appreciate a good ol’ music vid, but if you watch the two videos linked below, you’ll understand how Treble Charger’s Red and Ketch Harbour Wolves’ Breakdown have videos that evoke the beauty and eventual starkness of this time of year and can boost a run.
