We took advantage of the sunshine just before the fog rolled in this evening and went to explore Sand Dollar Beach not far from home.
The rewards were plenty:
-The kids had a blast running along the sandy flats, picking up discarded crab shells and snails, and running into the surprisingly temperate ocean.
-They also got a big kick out of the seven or eight sand dollars my wife found in the calm surf.
-The breeze was delightfully reminiscent of autumn evenings gone by.
-The rolling fog waltzing in over the horizon made for spectacular light.
-And the sea air once again brought the whole family together as it ebbed and flowed through us.
Perfect late summer evening.
