It’s true when the proverbial “they” say that there is a time and place for everything.
There is a time and place for swearing, taking a pee outdoors, kissing, skinny dipping, drinking whiskey straight from the bottle, etc.
There is also a time and place for the best run.
I’ve had some spectacular runs because of the beauty of the geography and I have had some fantastic runs because of the physical accomplishment.
Consistently, my best runs take place either early morning or late evening along the coast heading out of Lunenburg to Blue Rocks and back.
I haven’t posted my fastest times, best pace, or longest mileage along that route. And it is my second favourite, not first, when it comes to scenery and challenge.
But time and time again, this run proves to be my best. The combination of steady flats and long slow hills, the coastal terrain and the in-town stretches make for a perfect run cocktail.
If you haven’t been to Lunenburg or Blue Rocks, Nova Scotia before, this is the time to visit this place.
It is #runhappiness.
